2022 Honda CB500F Features and Specs
2022 Honda CB500F Features and specs. The Honda CB500F occupies a unique place in our lineup as an aggressively styled streetfighter suitable for a wide variety of riders and a wide variety of terrains.. And for 2019, we’ve made some serious improvements for even more perfect results. It now has more power, more style, better sound, and a plethora of other functional improvements. What hasn’t changed is the mission of this bike to put a new generation of riders in one of the best road machines, with opportunities ahead.
To see, Honda’s new CB500F is a huge improvement over last year’s model. It gets more aggressive LED headlights, a wider tank with clear air intakes, and the sharper, more muscular bodywork that a proper ‘streetfighter mini’ uses. The old bespoke look is gone and replaced by a machine with more attitude and presence, not afraid to show off the best parts – like that bloody ceramic-coated engine cover.
Quality is carried over to the smooth liquid-cooled 471cc parallel-twin engine, the same motor that was installed in the CBR500R and CB500X. However, the Honda CBR500F slightly modifies the fuel mapping in the F to improve the low to mid-range torque on the Honda Cb 500r, with a maximum of 43Nm (31ft-lbs) at 6,500 rpm. The ’19 model also delivers a 4% increase in power over last year’s model, making the A2’s maximum power match 35KW (47bhp) @ 8600rpm.
The bike’s new super lightweight slipper clutch helps maintain composure under hard braking and heavy downshifts, even though I tried hard to shift it into corners… No hooliganism of that sort occurred. On a tight and smooth 6-speed upshift gearbox, it smoothly pulls you to the national speed limit – and a little further.
As you pick up speed, the standard twin-port exhaust sounds decent, but some more noise would be ideal, especially if you’re traveling and want to grab people’s attention as you pass through traffic.
Frame and Suspension
The engine is mounted on the same tubular steel diamond as the previous model, and there are no complaints from the department here – the chassis is well laid out and balanced, although the adjustable fork with an initial 120mm load is a bit unattractive. The front-end setup certainly isn’t as tight as those mounted upside down on some bikes in this class, but they do a pretty decent job. The introduction of a luxurious-looking single-piston pro-link rear shock completes the package nicely. On Tenerife’s tight twisty roads, everything seems to communicate well despite the basic exterior suspension.
